The congregation routinely selects a group of men to serve as elders, leaders or shepherds. The shepherds are called to feed [teach] and protect the congregation. The shepherds’ emphasis is on people, not programs and their unique ministry carries with it a responsibility for the souls of our congregation.
Kenny Davidson
Kenny spent his early years with his family as missionaries in Chiang Ma, Thailand. He attended junior high and high school in College Station, Texas. He graduated from Abilene Christian University and married Susan. They have been married for 40 years. Together they have 4 children, three in-laws and five grandchildren. Kenny has lived in Graham for 16 years and has held the positions of Head Football Coach and Athletic Director for Graham ISD. He has been a member of Eastside since 2005.
Ky Graham
Ky was born and raised in the small West Texas town of Friona. He attended Lubbock Christian University where he met Lanis Rhea. In 1982 they were married and upon graduating from LCU in 1983, moved back to the farm west of Friona. Ky and Lanis have three children: Kyla, 35; Krista, 33; and Kaison, 31. In 1999 Ky was hired by Friona High School as an assistant girls basketball coach and then promoted to the head boys basketball coach in 2005, holding that position until 2011. In 2011 Ky and Lanis moved to Breckenridge and Ky became the head girls basketball coach. Four years later they moved to Graham where Ky became the head girls basketball coach at Graham High School. Ky and Lanis are very active members of Eastside. Ky has served as Elder since 2018.
Kerry Groves
Kerry is from the Lake Country area. He grew up on the East side of Possum Kingdom Lake, attended Graford schools and graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Kerry is currently the managing partner of Groves Mechanical which has been in the Lake area since 1966 and specializes in plumbing, electrical and HVAC services for the PK Lake area. Kerry married Cheryl Cannon in 1986. They have three boys: Lance, Corey and Casey; and four grandchildren: Kain, Kambrey, Cannon and Winnie. Kerry grew up going to church and has attended Baptist, Methodist, Non-denominational and Pentecostal congregations before joining the Church of Christ in 2007. Kerry became and Elder in 2017. He enjoys hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and attending sporting events.
Steve Jones
Dr. Steve Jones has lived in Graham since 2001. “Doc” graduated from Sundown High School and then Abilene Christian University. He married high school sweetheart, Kristi, before moving to San Antonio for medical school. Upon graduation with his MD, the couple moved to Fort Worth so Steve could complete a Family Medicine residency at JPS Hospital. During that three-year period their son Joel was born. The Joneses moved to Graham where their daughter, Claire, was born just three months after they moved to town. Steve is a parter at GMA Health, is a hospitalist at GRMC and serves as medical director for BeyondFaith Hospice. He is a trustee for Graham ISD as well. Steve served as deacon for 15 years before being asked to be an Elder in 2018.
Donnie McCool
Donnie was born in 1940 in Nocona, TX. He was baptized in 1952 and graduated from Nocona High School in 1958. He and Reba Walker were married in April 1960. He graduated from Texas Tech in August 1963 with a bachelors degree in animal science. The family moved to Graham in 1969, with Donnie working as County Supervisor of USDA Farmers Home Administration. Since moving to Graham, Donnie and Reba have been active members of Eastside Church of Christ. Donnie taught and worked with youth in earlier years then teaching adult classes on a regular basis. He has also served as deacon and is presently serving as an Elder. Donnie and Reba have two sons, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Bryan Ray
Bryan is married to Andra, his wife of 24 years, and has two wonderful daughters, Alyssa, 23 and Emma, 20. Bryan grew up attending the Church of Christ in Kaufman, TX. He attended Abilene Christian University for his undergraduate degree and Midwestern State University for his graduate degree. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and operates a private practice in partnership with Andra. Bryan has lived in Graham for 19 years and has attended Eastside Church of Christ since moving to the area. He served as a deacon working with the youth and men’s ministries for several years and has been an Elder for the past three years.
The elders routinely select a group of men to serve as deacons or servants. The primary use of the word in the Bible is “servant”. The value of these members are to assist the shepherds/elders to fulfill specific ministries within the church.
